At last counting there were about 1,942,836 blogs about music. What sets apart the winners (see Blogroll) and the losers (is it listed on the Blogroll?)? So how does one music blog set itself apart from others? Up-to-date news? Yeah, there are plenty of those. Sharp-witted humor? Some do this better than others. Reviews that get right to the point? Some definitely struggle with that. So how does a new blog get noticed? What do they need to do to jump out of the pages and say “Bookmark me! Syndicate me! Link to me! Please, oh please, comment on me!”?
I don’t have all the answers, but I do have an idea or two up my sleeve, and hopefully that will be reason enough to sift through all 1,942,868 blogs (32 have been added since I started writing) to G.W. Records.
Stay tuned…
